Passing
The video Passing looks at landscape through an eye-level very low to the ground. Fallen autumn leaves on the forest floor are blown upwards and then descend in lyrical tumbles filmed in slow motion. Within what appears to be a fairly straightforward recording of this action is the insertion of rotoscoped leaves where I have traced over and animated some of the individual leaves throughout the video footage. These animated leaves hover, repeat, hide, and dance in the frame of the ‘natural’. One is not sure if you are seeing them or not as they float up and flit by.
